Some Bespoke Battlefield Tours

Many companies offer battlefield tours; most of them run generic tours for large groups.  Flanders Footsteps is different: we will tailor every aspect of your tour to your needs and requirements.  Your experience will be far more rewarding if the tour is designed around your aims from the outset.  Whether you want to

  • gain a broad understanding of the wars in Europe,
  • explore an interest in a particular unit, battle or technology,
  • make a pilgrimage in honour of a family member,

we can construct a personalised tour for you.
Your guide, Jonathan Davy, served in the RAF for over 26 years in roles as diverse as Air Drop, Ground Attack and Air Defence.  In 2018 he graduated with a Distinction from the University of Wolverhampton’s MA course, The History of Britain and the First World War.  He has broad experience of European battlefields and a deep understanding of what happened on, and above, them.  Making tours come alive by walking in the exact footsteps of those who fought, he offers a human perspective to these mind-boggling conflicts.

Here are four representative tours, with different aims, locations and customers:
